This is a very
nice original silver plate 91,xxx which until recently was owned by
Lawrence Feldman (top NYC studio musician – Bob Mintzer big band,
Barbara Streisand, Tony Bennet, etc). Lawrence played this tenor for a
while as his main horn.
The horn is in great shape. There are no resolders. The bottom bow and
the neck are in great shape. A very small but sharp ding was removed
from the bell flare (please see pictures).
The horn retains approximately 85% of its original silver plating with
the main wear on the key touch points and the side of the neck. The
plating loss on the right hand side of the neck is possibly a result of
a neck repair at some point in the past - it is hard to tell for sure
as the neck is now in perfect, original shape.
The horn features a high F# and the original Euro engraving looks
stunning and is really crisp and sharp under your nails.
It has reasonable new pads with plastic resonators and we have gone
completely through the horn to ensure it is in perfect playing
It is indeed an outstanding player! It is colorful, yet has the focus
and punch that the 90,xxx series are known for. A well balanced sound
that is quite powerful when you push it. There is a super strong and
resonant core weight to the tone that keep the sound together at all
A very versatile horn with a great legacy and a proven track record!
